Shipping policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026

Emilia Food Love brings food from small Italian artisans to your table. Here's how your order gets from Italy to your door.

Where your order ships from

Most of our products are prepared and packed in Italy, at the warehouse of our affiliate 4 FOOD S.R.L. in Quattro Castella, in the province of Reggio Emilia, and flown to the United States. Our Tuscan salumi (cured meats) ship from our warehouse in the United States. If your order includes both, it arrives in separate parcels, each with its own tracking number.

Where we deliver

We deliver to the 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Please use a street address: express couriers can't deliver to P.O. boxes.

How long it takes

  • We prepare and ship orders on Italian business days, Monday to Friday, except Italian public holidays.
  • Your parcel travels by air with FedEx or UPS. On average it arrives about 72 hours (three business days) after it leaves Italy.
  • Fresh pasta ships on Mondays and Tuesdays, and salumi from Monday to Wednesday, so they never wait in a warehouse over the weekend.
  • The estimated delivery date shown on our site and at checkout is calculated for your order. It's an estimate, not a guarantee: weather, carrier delays and customs checks can add time.
  • If we can't ship your order within the time we told you, we'll let you know right away. You can choose to wait or to cancel your order for a full refund.

Ship it later

Going away, or planning a surprise? In your cart, turn on Ship it later and choose a date from tomorrow up to 30 days ahead. It's the earliest day we'll ship your order, not a delivery date.

Customs, duties and the FDA

We take care of US customs, the FDA Prior Notice required for imported food, and any import duties and fees. What you pay at checkout is all you pay, at every address we deliver to, including Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

If a carrier ever asks you for duties or fees on one of our parcels, contact us before paying. If you've already paid, send us the receipt and we'll refund you.

Customs may occasionally hold a parcel for inspection. We handle it with the carrier and keep you informed.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs are shown in your cart and at checkout, before you pay. Shipping is free on orders over $299.

Packaging and gifts

We pack every order to travel safely. When the weather calls for it, cheese and other fresh products travel in insulated packaging with ice packs. Please refrigerate fresh products as soon as they arrive.

Sending a gift? Add our gift box and a card with your message in your cart, and ship the order straight to the person you're surprising.

Tracking and delivery

As soon as your order ships, we email you the tracking number. FedEx and UPS deliver on business days. Depending on the address, the courier may leave the parcel at your door or try again another day.

Please check your address carefully at checkout. We can't be responsible for delays or losses caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, but contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Damaged, missing or wrong items

Please check your parcel when it arrives. If something is damaged, missing or not what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We'll send a replacement or refund you. Our Refund Policy explains how.
